Foodies, read on (lots of pictures of mouthwatering food will follow – I’ve warned you!)If you love to eat, especially fish & meat, Japan is the place for you to go. From sashimi so fresh, it still wiggles to kobe beef, which is so tender it will melt in your mouth. Continue reading
Koh Phi Phi was not what I had expected it to be. I must say I stumbled on it randomly, but have found it to be “the paradise island” all the backpackers seem to look for (watch “The Beach” for reference, even if only for young Leo).
Hong Kong- 香港
I had been to China in 2006 but what I found in HK was completely different from what I expected and from what I had get to know. A city with over 7 Mio. of inhabitants (and an amazingly high density of 6,544/km2 compared to Switzerland which only has 193/km2), booming with lights, signs, smells and a huge amount of people. I stayed there for about a week at the Yessin Hostel which was in a central area (right near the metro station Fortress Hill and a Starbucks) and very clean. The number of skyscrapers is simply amazing, definitely a must-see if you love the modern cities! I personally enjoyed the best view from the Victoria Peak (images below). Be sure to arrive up before sun set and stay until it gets dark to have the most out of the view! Not only the front side is amazing, on the back you will find another astonishing view of the sea and the hills. Another awesome point for a good shot is the avenue of the stars (picture above). I instantly fell in love with the German capital and had to go back a couple of months later, as you maybe remember from my older post about Winter in Berlin. Continue reading

My last (and by far best) birthday present from my parents was a trip to the U.S. last November. We went to Washington D.C., Virginia and New York!! It was such a cool experience, and even if I’d been in NYC and LA before I was really amazed by all the cool stuff I saw. The first picture has been taken in Virginia (love the name of the state!) at the airport. First thing I did arriving in the U.S. was ordering my favorite Starbucks Latte (Pumpkin Spiced) and some pumpkin cake (yes, I am totally a pumpkin addict). We stayed for a couple of days in Washington before heading to New York. Continue reading
